Report on Republican Prisoners in English Jails

Frankland

When the `High Risk Category A' prisoners were moved from Frankland some time ago, Joe McKenny a Republican Prisoners aged 70 and classified as Category B was left there. Joe who is serving a sixteen year sentence since 1986 should have been entitled to the 50 percent remission which was introduced last year. He was, however, refused this. He is the only Republican Prisoner remaining in Frankland. He has nine months left to serve and rumour has it that he is due for repatriation in the near future.
